2014 Acura RDX AWD Off-Road Test Review

Most people won’t associate the 2014 Acura RDX with off-roading, but that’s not stopping Everyman Driver‘s Dave Erickson from punishing it through a muddy off-road test review at Washington’s Riverside State Park ORV Area. While it lacks the SH-AWD found in its big brother the MDX, the RDX’s All-Wheel Drive with Intelligent Control and 8.1 inches(205 mm) of ground clearance are enough to handle all but two of the steepest challenges in this video.

    Could you do that same test with upgraded tires? Those tires are too slippery for that condition.

    Could you do a similar test at slower speeds that way traction could be demonstrated more clearly and prevent it from accidentally getting confused with momentum. With enough momentum you could conceivably splash any car through a mud puddle.
