Another Acura, another road trip to the Canadian Rockies. This time around I had the pleasure of shooting a Bellanova White Pearl 2016 Acura ILX with Technology Plus and A-SPEC Package.
Refreshed for the 2016 model year, the new ILX received some relatively significant exterior updates. It features a new Jewel Eye LED Headlight design which adds some nice chrome styling details and uses a lower LED strip as daytime running lights. It’s also the first production Acura model to wear the new, slimmer grille which to me resembles a contoured wing or boomerang.
The A-SPEC Package further adds to exterior styling with fog lights, side skirts, a deck lid spoiler, and some funky 18-inch wheels. My only wish is that it was equipped with the front and rear Aero Kit pieces for the full effect.

Personally, I liked the looks of the 2013 to 2015 ILX more. The updated model is a little too “boy racer” for me. But there’s no disputing that it’s the better car under the skin.
