It would seem the Editors over at Motor Trend have grown quite fond of their 2011 Acura TSX Sport Wagon after just four months of testing.
In the second update of their Long Term Road Test there is much praise for the TSX, one editor even had to remind himself it was an Acura he was driving and not a BMW.
“First, after hopping in the TSX Sport Wagon for the first time since we’ve had it in fleet, after driving for a few miles, I momentarily lost track of what vehicle I was driving. With the texture and quality of the leather, the size and feel of the steering wheel (Lieberman calls it “hefty without being overly meaty”), the weight of the steering, and the comfort and luxury of the seats, I thought I was driving a BMW. I had to look at the badge on the steering wheel to remind myself I was driving the Acura.” – Motor Trend

2012 Acura TL SH-AWD © Motor Trend
A recent Motor Trend Road Test reviews the 6-speed manual transmission 2012 Acura TL SH-AWD.
“The one area where some of the old Honda “surprise and delight” magic comes out is in the shifter. The lever itself is relatively stubby, with short throws and a precise feel. Although not quite perhaps to the same gearhead-porn level as the Mazda MX-5, it’s an unexpected delight in a midsize sedan. Likewise, the clutch is light without feeling fragile, although smooth engagement does take a little more practice than it does on some cars.” – Motor Trend

The Car and Driver crew took the 2012 Acura TL for a Short Take Road Test in their recent mini review.
“We tend to like Acuras. They usually offer decent handling (the company’s torque-vectoring Super Handling All-Wheel Drive system only helps), a high level of technology, and good value relative to the German luxury brands. Since the current-generation TL was introduced in 2008, though, we’ve been unable to get over a couple of significant shortcomings: an automatic transmission that missed the six-speed boat—making do with only five forward ratios—and that awful beak. For 2012, Acura has attempted to address these complaints.” – Steve Siler

Autoblog.com recently posted a review on the new 2011 Acura TSX Sport Wagon.
While the actual review was fairly positive, I was shocked to find the comments weren’t focused on the Acura grill. Usually Autoblog is notorious for users hating on the grill, but it seems there was some real discussion going on. Has the general opinion on Acura styling changed with the new revised grill?

The Automobile Magazine editors continue to test the ZDX’s off road abilities in the latest Four Seasons Test update.
They brought the ZDX along with some crossover buddies – an Audi Q5 and Subaru Outback, to Northern Michigan to conquer deep puddles and sandy slopes.
