I’ve collected 1/18 scale models since I was a kid, but I’ve recently started on 1/43 scale car models – they’re bigger and have considerably more detail than 1/64 scale(Hot Wheels size), yet are still small enough to have a few of them on my work desk.
Just this week I received two of them in the mail. First is a 1/43 2022 Acura NSX Type S in Gotham Gray Matte, from TSM-Model. Second is a 1990 Honda NSX in Formula Red, from Hachette Collections Japan.
Both look excellent, free of any obvious flaws or imperfections. The NSX Type S from TSM-Model does come at a higher price point, but you do get that extra level of detail. Which is to be expected, as the Type S is of course a newer and more complex design that requires more attention, especially with its flying buttress and exposed engine cover.
As a resin model, the TSM-Model Acura NSX Type S also has the advantage with sharper lines compared to the diecast Honda NSX from Hachette. That said, the Hachette NSX is definitely a nice quality 1/43 model for its price. My only complaint about the Type S is that the Gotham Gray Matte “paint” could have been done better as it gives off a very toy-like appearance.
