Starting 25 years ago with the very first Integra, Acura has always been known for high-revving, fuel efficient 4-cylinder cars that are a blast to drive. In fact, as many of our luxury competitors re-introduce 4-cylinder models into their line-ups, Acura stands alone as the only luxury brand in America that has always offered a 4 cylinder and a manual transmission option in its product line.
And for 2012, we will take our fun-quotient up a notch by introducing a new installment to the sporty TSX series. The TSX Special Edition adds new attitude to the TSX lineup, thanks to exterior and interior upgrades to the popular model.
Along with Acura’s acclaimed K24 4-cylinder engine and a choice of the close-ratio 6-speed manual or Sequential SportShift automatic transmission, it features a more aggressive front spoiler and rear bumper fascia, unique side sills and a Special Edition badge on the trunklid. It also boasts 17 x 17.5-inch, 5-spoke aluminum wheels, featuring a polished finish with a unique dark grey background.
Inside, the TSX SE has sporty appointments, including exclusive seating surfaces, straight from a JDM Type-S model, with perforated black Lux Suede® inserts and red backing. Unique red stitching graces the seats, armrest, steering wheel and shift knob, complementing the red lighting for the instrument cluster gauges, overhead lighting and footwell lighting. And the driver’s footwell has brushed aluminum pedal covers with a race-inspired look. There’s also bright silver plating for the steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters along with black headliner material for a cool appearance.
The TSX Special Edition will go on sale in the fall. In the meantime, visit the Future Vehicles section on acura.com to see photos.
Until next time,
