If you loved Marvel’s The Avengers like I did, you’re probably going to see it again when it is released on Blu-ray Disc and DVD on September 25, 2012. You’ll get to replay all your favourite scenes and get a better look at some of the Acuras you may have missed the first time around.
If you don’t remember the scene with the Acura RDX in the above screenshot, it’s not because you weren’t paying attention. It’s actually part of a deleted scene about Steve Rogers/Captain America that was cut from the theatrical release. It also would have been one of the clearest and most obvious Acura placements of the film. Thankfully, and to the delight of Acura and Avengers fans, the 3-minute clip will be revived and added to the extended DVD release.
The scene itself is rather interesting, revealing how Steve Rogers is forced to quickly transition into the current time. As he walks through a busy Manhattan street, he passes an Acura dealership and glances over at a new 2013 RDX behind a really cool, high-tech glass display.
Judging by the reaction online, many viewers loved the scene and agree it never should have been cut in the first place. You can see it September 25th on the Blu-ray Disc and DVD release of The Avengers, but if you can’t hold out, have a peek at some screenshots or watch the full deleted scene below.
