Official release from acuranews.com:

Acura has highest projected five-year resale value among all luxury brands

06/17/2013 – TORRANCE, Calif.

For the second consecutive year, Acura led all other luxury brands in the Edmunds.com Best Retained Value® Awards with the highest projected residual value, of 45.1 percent, after five years of ownership.  The study is based on Edmunds.com’s True Market Value® (TMV®) tool, which projects a vehicle’s average resale value after five year’s of ownership at the time of the new-vehicle purchase.

“This recognition from Edmunds.com speaks to the clear advantages of the Acura brand in offering its customers outstanding luxury performance, features and technologies that few of our competitors can deliver at a price that none of them can match,” said Jeff Conrad, vice president of sales for Acura.  “It’s yet another proof point that Acura is delivering truly outstanding value on a luxury scale and smart luxury buyers are taking notice.”

Acura was the fastest growing luxury brand in America in 2012 with sale up 26.7 percent over the previous year, and sales of Acura vehicles are up another 9.8 percent through May of this year on the strength of new and recently redesigned models such as the ILX entry-luxury sedan, the second-generation RDX five-passenger sport-utility vehicle, and the all-new RLX flagship sedan with Precision All-Wheel Steer™.

Acura’s next new model, the completely redesigned 2014 MDX seven-passenger flagship SUV will be launching soon at Acura dealers nationwide. The MDX will be followed later in the year by the arrival of the 370-horsepower RLX with Sport Hybrid Super-Handling All-Wheel Drive – the first system of its kind, with outstanding fuel-efficiency (at minimum, a  30/30/30 city/highway/combined EPA mpg rating is anticipated*) and delivering superior driving performance via its innovative three-motor, torque vectoring hybrid system. Last month, Acura also commemorated the start of construction on its new Performance Manufacturing Center in Marysville, Ohio, where the company will build the highly anticipated next-generation Acura NSX mid-engine supercar1, slated to launch in 2015.

Increasingly, Acura is delivering leading-edge technologies that are helping further define its “Synergy Between Man and Machine” product direction, including Super-Handling All-Wheel Drive™ (SH-AWD™), Acura Jewel Eye™ LED headlights, Precision All-Wheel Steer™ (P-AWS™) and next-generation AcuraLink® connected car technology, along with advanced driver-assistive systems such as Acura Lane Keep Assist and Active Cruise Control with Low-Speed Follow.
