Acura says an RDX Type S is on the way, but they haven’t set a timeline on when it will actually arrive. There’s a good chance we won’t even see a Type S for the current, third-generation RDX. So if you’re looking for an all-around performance upgrade for your 3G RDX, what’s the next best thing? Presenting Ed’s 2021 RDX, dubbed the “PMC GT”.
Starting with a hand-built Thermal Orange Pearl 2021 RDX PMC Edition, Ed sent the vehicle to Graham Rahal Performance for upgrades. The GRP Performance Package includes:
- Upgraded turbo kit(Civic Type-R)
- GRP Intercooler Upgrade Kit
- StopTech Big Brake Kit
- Eibach Lowering Springs
- GRP Catback Exhaust System
- Green Filter Air Intake Filter
Horsepower output is now estimated at over 350 hp, up from 272 hp.
The PMC GT also gets a wheel upgrade with a set of sporty 21″ HRE P101 wheels in Brushed Dark Clear, wrapped in Michelin PS4S tires.
But it’s not just about performance, there’s a long list of cosmetic modifications that have been added to this build: carbon fiber wrapped mirrors, side, wing and window details, full body clear PPF, Acura accessory front bumper trim, grille surround carbon fiber wrapped, tinted side windows and front emblem, black chrome rear emblem, lighted A-Spec door sills and projector down lights, custom PMC GT badges inside and out, custom GRP engine cover, embroidered PMC GT logo headrests.
