Remember that trend where everyone was using AI to create LEGO versions of their car? At first glace that’s kind of what these images look like. Except that it’s not AI, nor is it LEGO. Mattel in collaboration with Hot Wheels, have their answer to LEGO, and it’s called “Mattel Brick Shop”.
Today Mattel revealed seven Brick Shop collectible building sets, one being a 1:16 Scale Acura NSX from its “Hot Wheels Elite Series”.
“Each set features accurate details and proportions, customization options and includes real metal parts, allowing fans and collectors to recreate and personalize their favorite Hot Wheels vehicles. Every building set includes a 1:64th scale matching die-cast so fans can enjoy their own Mattel Brick Shop build and exclusive Hot Wheels car only available as a part of the set.”
Offered in the classic Formula Red color, the 876-piece ’90 NSX building set can be branded as either an Acura or a Honda. Other details include:
- Build the Japanese Supercar: Fully buildable 1:16 scale ’90 Acura NSX loaded with realistic details.
- Customize Your Ride: Includes extra parts, metal wheel covers, and decals to transform your build. You can build the Acura NSX or the Honda NSX.
- Exclusive Metal Car & Metal Signature Plate: Features a matching 1:64 scale metal car and signature plate, available first with Mattel Brick Shop sets.
- Authentic NSX Details: Features opening doors, pop-up headlights, functional steering, and swappable license plates for maximum authenticity.
- Compatible With Other Brands: Pieces combine with all building sets by Mattel Brick Shop and other name brands.
Mattel Brick Shop building sets are now available for pre-sale at select retailers globally and will hit retail shelves this summer.
