Acura’s lineup may currently be down to just three models, but there’s more on the way.
Today, Acura shared its future product roadmap, confirming plans to introduce three new SUVs in the coming years, along with a new hybrid powertrain aimed at bringing more performance and efficiency to its lineup.
Here’s what’s in the works:
- Adventure-Ready SUV: Expected to arrive in early 2028, this new SUV will combine rugged capability with the premium styling and refinement Acura is known for.
- Acura’s Largest SUV Ever: A new eight-passenger SUV is in development, positioned above the MDX to give buyers a larger, more spacious option in the brand’s lineup.
- Next-Generation RDX Hybrid: The fourth-generation RDX is scheduled to arrive in 2028, featuring Acura’s two-motor hybrid technology for a blend of performance and improved fuel efficiency.
Beyond its SUV plans, Acura is also developing a new V6 hybrid powertrain for its D-segment (large sedan) models. The new setup promises sporty performance, enhanced towing capability and greater efficiency, signaling that electrification will play a bigger role in the brand’s future.
With several new models on the horizon, Acura appears ready to expand its lineup and offer buyers more choices in the coming years.

Acura today shared a roadmap for the brand’s future in North America with its U.S. dealers, including plans to introduce three new SUVs in the coming years. The strategy will significantly expand the Acura lineup into new segments, with a focus on building customer lifetime loyalty while attracting new clients to the Acura brand.
“We are making a big commitment to Acura by delivering products and services that meet the needs of our customers at all life stages, which will create a sustainable long-term direction for the brand,” said Eiji Fujimura, president & CEO of American Honda. “The Acura business foundation is sharply focused on the needs of the customer, delivering new products that offer value for money on a premium level, and increasing our speed to market to ensure that our products are highly competitive and meet the latest market conditions.”
New Models, New Segments
As a part of the company’s commitment to the Acura brand, significant investment is being made into developing new products and technologies built around the needs of the customer.
The new product introductions will begin with an adventure-ready Acura SUV set to arrive in the first part of 2028. The new model will deliver the capability customers need for their outdoor adventures along with modern and premium styling, and the comfort and technology customers expect from an Acura.
Acura also will add a new 8-passenger SUV – its largest ever – designed to capture growing demand for more family-friendly vehicles in the premium space. The new SUV, positioned above the 7-passenger MDX, is currently in development.
Acura previously announced that an all-new fourth-generation RDX Hybrid will come to market in 2028 – the first Acura model to feature the company’s award-winning two-motor hybrid technology.
The three new SUVs, along with the ADX, MDX and Integra, will meet customer needs across a range of life stages, a key element of the brand’s new business direction. Additionally, a new V6 hybrid powertrain is in development for Acura D-Segment models. This new powertrain will deliver sporty performance, improved towing capabilities and environmental efficiencies.
“Acura is entering the most popular segments in the market while maintaining a leading position in gateway segments with Integra and ADX, to solidify a strong and sustainable future,” said Gary Robinson, Vice President of Auto Strategy at American Honda.
Acura Outpacing the Market
By delivering value-driven, premium products, Acura is outpacing the luxury industry through the first 9 months of the year – growing faster than several established luxury competitors.
Through the first three quarters of 2026, Acura has posted a year-over-year sales increase of 4.4%. The Acura MDX, the industry’s best-selling three-row luxury SUV of all time, has seen impressive growth of more than 25%, while the brand’s gateway models – ADX and Integra – both lead their segments in retail sales. All three models will receive meaningful enhancements for the 2027 model year, further increasing customer value and competitiveness.
“At a time when Acura continues to outpace the luxury market with products focused on delivering customer value, our dealers were incredibly excited about our plans to expand the Acura lineup” said Jessika Laudermilk, assistant vice president of Acura National Sales. “Affordability is more important than ever, so there couldn’t be a better time to have strong gateway models like ADX and Integra continue to bring new buyers to the brand while retaining our loyal customers.”
