Acura said they eventually want every model in their lineup to have a Type S variant, but they’ve been pretty quiet when asked about the possibility of an Integra Type S. It’s almost to the point where I really wonder if they actually have one in the works.
These photos sent in to Allcarnews, might be the hard evidence we were looking for. The photos show a camouflaged vehicle with heavy padding, with all the clues pointing to an upcoming Integra Type S.
Up front we can make out a diamond pentagon grille and some aggressive styling features on the lower fascia. The side profile shows a sloping roof, very similar to the Integra’s liftback body style. The biggest giveaway are the uncovered taillights, which are exactly the same as the current Integra. Its center-mounted, triple exhaust outlets is the same setup seen on the new 2023 Civic Type R, suggesting the Integra Type S will likely be based off that model.
Let’s hope this is what we think it is, and Acura will be sharing the good news soon!
