It looks like Acura isn’t ready to say goodbye to the second-generation NSX just yet. In celebration of Red Bull Racing’s 2022 F1 Constructors’ Championship, Acura will build another iteration of the NSX: a limited-production roadster called the NSX Type RB.
It’s been over ten years since we were first teased with Tony’s Stark’s “NSX Roadster” in the Avengers, and after countless rumours and speculation, Acura will finally deliver an NSX that offers an open-air driving experience.
Details are limited at this point, but first images reveal an open-top design with styling mostly carried over from the Type S. Red Bull logos flank each side, with red accents on the front splitter, side skirts and rear diffuser.
Sources tell us the NSX Type RB retains the SH-AWD three-motor hybrid system and 3.5L twin-turbocharged V6, but will benefit from a slight boost in power over the Type S.
Owners of the NSX Type RB will also receive a lifetime supply of Red Bull, and their vehicle signed and personally delivered by both Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez.
Expect a full press release from Acura next week.
