More 2018 Acura TLX Prototype Spy Shots

A few more photos of a 2018 Acura TLX prototype have surfaced and they’ve given us a really good idea of how the new front will shape up. Although we can’t pinpoint the original source, the shots have been posted on Temple of VTEC, the Acura TLX Facebook group, and on AcuraZine.

The new photos show a blue prototype now with jewel eye headlights and just a thin layer of camouflage up front and in the rear. Take a closer look and it’s easy to make out the lines of the diamond pentagon grille, headlights, and front bumper features. In the back, dual exhausts can be seen and it seems badging has been covered up just below each tail light. There’s some speculation that the extra badge could signify a new trim package.

We were a bit unsure about how the new grille will look grafted onto the existing TLX, but after seeing these photos we’re feeling a lot more optimistic. Hopefully we’ll get to see the refreshed 2018 Acura TLX unveiled at the the 2017 North American International Auto Show in early January.

No mention of powertrain changes but my local Acura dealership is certain it Acura will introduce a Type-S version with a 400HP twin turbo V6 to compete with Infinity’s. From the looks of the spy shots it seems possible. Those are 19 or 20 inch wheels, blacked out trim, and visible dual exhaust tips. Let’s hope so.
